What is reflexology?
-
Reflexology is a method of massage and therapeutic touch focused on the feet (and sometimes hands, ears and face).
-
It is an alternative or complementary therapy and is entirely attuned to the individual and their needs.
-
It is an ancient and natural healing art, which is refined today with modern insights.
The technique:
-
Reflexology involves careful pressure applied with the hands and fingers of the practitioner onto the feet of the recipient. This massage ‘speaks back’ to the whole body, eliciting self-regulating responses and optimising its systems.
-
It is based on is the idea that the macrocosm of the whole individual is mirrored in the microcosm of the feet.
The benefits:

-
Reflexology encourages a sense of ease and wellbeing, greater inner balance and deeper sleep.
-
The therapy may awaken further natural self-healing mechanisms in the body and might offer personal insights.
-
Reflexology is profoundly relaxing and enjoyable, and has been described as ‘nature’s tranquilliser.’
